He pulls Edric away from the shelter just after wake-up, under the scrutinizing gaze of the only volunteer with eyes and functioning brain cells enough to speculate on the pair's age. Today is Egg McMuffin day, courtesy of the same volunteer's loose pockets. Lawrence figures it's only fair, considering she probably called CPS on them and they'll need their energy to run away properly. He leads the other boy toward those golden arches, ignores the looks that come with having not showered in what feels like a decade, and with efficiency and a smile the two receive their disturbingly-round egg and sausage on a cardboard bun.

"We gotta get a better gig," He groans, flopping into a molded plastic chair.

It's been way too long since this one went around.

So... Lawrence and Edric are officially missing! And I should have stuck a post up a while ago. Ahem.

Anyway, in all technicality, they haven't been seen since Friday or Saturday night, but... time is funky when you're RPing as sparingly as we have been. >_>; So guesstimating is go.

If you want to be involved: Please feel free to run with whatever. Your character could very well have seen one or both of them in the Nexus on Friday! Someone might well have seen Edric spin the wheel of LOLality! If your pup is very, very observant they might even remember what LOL he got: Bankruptcy. Also, thanks to Cameron, everybody has a handy method of knowing they're missing, if anyone else feels like, uh... worrying uselessly. :D? This is not a short-term disappearance, folks.

You learn to trust the simple things. The background conveniences. The coffee pot to just make coffee. The traffic lights to change, green, yellow, red, green, yellow, red. Internal combustion engines to only combust internally, the subway car to stay on its track. And a PINpoint to transport you to the coordinates you enter. The same coordinates you've entered hundreds of times from hundreds of locations. The ones that have worked every single time.

Except this one.

Lawrence notices the air before anything else. Gritty. Hanging heavy with moisture and lingering summer heat. Then the alley - no brownstones and old concrete here, no sir. This is seventies pastel, skins of adobe with a fleshy drywall interior and shards of palm trees jutting out for the world to see. The boy would know those weather-worn bones anywhere. Los Angeles.

"Edric?" His voice reaches for the other boy, grabs on with a nervous glance. "We pushed the right button, didn't we?" Cautious fingers prod at the PINpoint again, checking and re-checking the location that has always, always been right.

Error: Transport to location (HOME) is complete.

In less whiny news, I'm kind of liking school. Shocking, I know. I wish it didn't start so damn early and took up less time in the day, or that there just more time in the day, period. But besides that, I think I'm enjoying the whole learning bit. Challenges are nice, even if I still totally fail in the test-taking department. Edric is so adorable when he gets study-happy, too. D'aw.

Work is still shit, unsurprisingly. It would be awesome if people would stop jumping me and taking my fuckin cash, too, but apparently that is too much to ask for. I gotta start taking a different way home or bringing the PINpoint or something. Didn't get too hurt or nothing 'cause I have enough brain cells to play nice with the guys who're bigger than me, but I don't got enough in savings to be supporting all the gits in NYC.

Wasn't I gonna stop whining at some point? Yes, lets.

It's Friday night and Lawrence should really be working. Rent is important, savings will be more so, and keeping his regular clientele is imperative to either, but... then there's Cameron. Cameron, dinner and a movie, in fact, and while he could pass up two of the three, he would have to be insane to pass up the whole package. Add in a bit - really, just a bit - of red wine, and Lawrence is having an outright enjoyable Friday night.

Of course, with joy comes laughter, the happy bobbing of shoulders and less fortunate bobbing of wine glasses, which tonight ends in wine down the poor priest's white shirt. Oops! Apparently that calls for immediate stripping and soaking of said shirt, and far be it from Lawrence to question a man on a cleaning mission. Well-fed, loose-limbed and lazy, the boy flops into his friend's lap as soon as he returns. Hello there, hansom shirtless man. :3

"You know, for someone who's had me naked in his bed so often..." Where 'so often' clearly means 'once.' As if he is never naked in anyone's bed ever, and this is some gigantic scandal. "I don't know all that much about you, sir."
